About Us

OUR HISTORY

Our rich history dates back to 1933 when women were beginning to be mobilized into the new Democratic coalition at the National level by Eleanor Roosevelt First Lady of the United States (1933–1945). The very first meeting of the PA Federation of Democratic Women (PFDW) took place at a conference in Reading, Pennsylvania in March 1927. Founded in 2014 the Chester County Democratic Women’s Leadership Initiative (CCDWLI) has grown into the largest chapter of the PFDW in operation.

OUR MISSION

The Chester County Democratic Women’s Leadership Initiative was formed to bring the issues that concern women and working families to the forefront of the political process. In order to encourage more women to run for public office and to elect Democrats, regardless of gender, the CCDWLI will hold events throughout the year to increase awareness, raise funds and strengthen our voices.

WHAT WE DO

We are an organization dedicated to getting more women elected to public office and electing Democrats at all levels of government. The CCDWLI holds events throughout the year to increase awareness, raise funds and strengthen Democratic voices.

At CCDWLI we strive to create a place where individuals who are looking to run for office, support Democrats running for office, and those who just want to be more informed or be part of the conversation are connected. Together we are building a powerful network of individuals committed to representing the values that protect the interests of women and working families.
